Symbols have always been used by the individual to express profound concepts, relating to the most varied fields of life.
The symbolic representation goes beyond what is its mere representation, acquiring profound meanings of unity or individuality.
Rita Montagnana, Teresa Mattei and Teresa Noce proposed adopting the mimosa as a symbol of International Women’s Day because it was an economic flower, the only one able to flourish in March, on the anniversary of International Worker’s Day. Later, the 8th of March became International Women’s Day worldwide.
Happy International Women’s Day everyone!
